Okay, this one has been a long time coming. I said that I would read this a long time ago. So, naturally it took me four years to do so. But, boy, am I glad I did? This is one of those series’ where you just kinda go “WOW”. It’s seriously awesome and there’s action and drama and romance and evil people who try to take over the world. It’s the complete package.
I was lucky enough to go to a writing festival last year that Cassandra Clare was attending and doing a presentation with Holly Black. This would have been great had I actually read any of either of their books at this point, however, after meeting her I decided that it was definitely time to read The Mortal Instruments. I was not disappointed. Continue reading “Review: The Mortal Instruments.”
I’ve been doing a lot of writing recently and while I am in no way an expert, I’ve figured out a few things that definitely have been working for me. Continue reading “7 Tips for Writing”
My gorgeous sister.
You’ve already been through so much.
You are going through something that I can’t even begin to imagine.
The pain you have endured, both physical and mental, is immense.
You are the strongest person I’ve ever known and I consider it a privilege to call you my sister.
I love you will everything I have and I know that Mum and Dad do too.
Somehow, you manage to look badass and dangerous in your new suit of armour.
I’ve never heard you rate your pain above a six, even though I know that anyone else would call it an eight.
You overcome every obstacle in your life with courage and a sheer force of will.
Finally, there’s a light at the end of the tunnel and I look forward to walking this last stretch of darkness with you.
You are my inspiration, my light, my sister.
I love you.
Okay, okay, this one is gonna be emotional. It’s a fresh wound. I swear, this woman is tearing my life apart with her books. Cassandra Clare has done it again, this time with the Infernal Devices. They are the prequel series to her famous Mortal Instruments series (Yes, I will do a post about them soon), set in 19th century London, it follows Tessa Gray who comes to London from her home in New York after her aunt dies to live with her brother, Nathaniel, who promises her a new life with him in England. When Tessa arrives, however, she is kidnapped by a pair of demons called the Dark Sisters who force Tessa to reveal a power that she didn’t even know she had.
The story follows her escape from the Dark Sisters’ House and her life in the London Institute while she falls in love with two Shadowhunters and is hunted by the Magister who wishes to use her to destroy all Nephilim.

We all have our dreams and ambitions. Even if you don’t know what career you want to have, I’m sure there are things that you want to accomplish or places you want to go before you die, right? Ambition is a great thing to have. It gives us something to look forward to, something to work towards and it gives us purpose.
Some people want to run million dollar companies, some want to star in Hollywood films, and some people just want to live a quiet life and raise a family. All of these things are perfectly valid dreams, just as the people who dream them are perfectly valid people. I consider myself a pretty ambitious person. I want to make my mark on the world, and while I hate being in the spotlight, I would love for people to know who I am and know what I can do. Continue reading “Dream Big.”
